ASU prepares for Georgia Southern
Saturday represents a prime opportunity for Appalachian State to turn its season around. With Georgia Southern making the trip to the High Country, the Mountaineers will have a chance to gain momentum and potentially jump start a better finish to the season than it was begun.
According to the coaching staff, the Mountaineers are close to making the turn, and in order to so the little things have to be corrected. With Georgia Southern's impressive option attack and physical defense standing across from the Mountaineers the challenge of earning a victory won't be an easy one. the turnovers, winning time of possession, winning field position, things like that which often determine the outcome of the game are what you improve on. Just little things like flipping the field. If the offense is starting backed up inside their own 20 for four and five possessions it's hard to drive 90 yards and score. Or if you're turning the ball over and putting the defense on the short field with 25 yards behind them before the other team scores, those are the little things you've got to eliminate to give yourself a chance to win."
