ASU drops Samford in double overtime

MountaineerIllustrated.com BOONE, N.C. -- It took double overtime Thursday night, but Appalachian State managed to move above .500 (9-8) in the Southern Conference with a 70-67 victory over Samford.
The double overtime contest marked the fifth time of the 2012-13 season that ASU played past regulation, and with the victory the Mountaineers managed to inch to within one win of earning a first round bye in the Southern Conference tournament.
