Appalachian State has had a strong week of practice leading up to Saturday's playoff contest with Illinois State. It's been as focused, spirited and driven as the Mountaineer coaching staff could have hoped.

As much of the talk has been centered on the last two weeks, the team's ability to play sharp and eliminate the rust that comes from two weeks off is what will determine whether or not the Mountaineers can make a push for the victory and a third round appearance.
