Appalachian State continues to learn about itself as a team and Saturday's contest with the Samford Bulldogs afforded it yet another opportunity to build and grow as a team.

Heading into the trip to Birmingham, Ala., the Mountaineers were well aware of the challenge that the then 5-1 Bulldogs would present. However, no one anticipated the need for late game heroics to walk away with a victory.
