ASU's secondary growing stronger
When the 2012 football season began, Appalachian State's secondary was one of the most depleted units on the football team. Freshman Dante Blackmon went down for the season at the beginning of fall camp. Rodger Walker followed him onto the injury list with an illness. Then Doug Middleton saw his sophomore campaign come to a close not long after. There was also the two-game suspension of Jamill Lott.
The loss of these players was a major blow to Scot Sloan and Bryan Brown's unit and presented more than a handful of challenges along the way.
